Since I remember, I was always in love with animals. In my childwood, I used to run to any dog that was walking on the street and if I went to a friend’s house where a dog or cat lived I would spend all the time playing with them. I asked my parents several times for a puppy, but the answer was always no. I had fish, birds (lots of birds!), hamsters, tortoises and even a small bunny, but nothing compared with my passion for dogs. Finally, when I was 17 years old, I came home really sad one day (because of something that happened at school) and I saw her waiting for me: so small and round, my first puppy girl, a Pug as I always wished! Sasha was my first canine love!
In the meanwhile, I graduated in Languages and Communication at Algarve University and post-graduated in Human Resource Management. I have worked as an hotel receptionist and as an administrative secretary at an accounting office. After a few years, for professional reasons, I moved to Spain and Sasha stayed with my parents. Obviously, I missed her a lot and I got a new puppy – Kika, my lovely furball, a cream Pug crazy for biscuits! When I returned to Portugal, Kika and Sasha became inseparable and delighted everyone! After a while, I got married with Micael and Kika came to live with u. After all, she was the most adventurous!
In 2020, opposite to all my future plans, I got the chance of starting working at BVet and, although I was a bit afraid of the unknown – I had never worked at a vet clinic before, so at the time I didn’t know much about the work itself, about dogs and cats diseases, treatments, medications… –, I didn’t hesitate! It was a risky decision but I don’t regret it: every single day I learn and progress a little bit more, love more what I do and my passion for animals grows and gets stronger. As I use to say, “This could be just a job but is far more than that”! Thanks to BVet I also fell in love with cats and adopted my first cat at work: “Nhá” is her name, chosen of course by my two years old son Leonardo! They’re best friends and it melts my heart watching them growing up together!
Out of work, my priority is to spend quality time with my son, husband (and, of course, Nhá), have a nice time with my friends and read a good book!
